Biography

Kristen Rose Gilhooly is a New England based singer, actress, dancer, and performing artist. Professional credits include Sister Mary Theresa/Ensemble, Sister Act (The Seacoast Repertory Theater). Mom, Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale. Bus Driver, Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus! The Musical! (Maddy's Theatre at the Children's Museum and Theatre of Maine). Other notable credits include Little Red Ridinghood, Into The Woods. Ensemble/Elle U/S, Legally Blonde. Joanne, RENT (The Portland Players). Ado Annie, Oklahoma! Helene, Sweet Charity. Sister Mary Amnesia, Nunsense (Biddeford City Theater). Mae Tuck, Tuck Everlasting. Alice Beineke, The Addams Family (Schoolhouse Arts Center).

Her first directorial credit was Forever Plaid (Biddeford City Theater), under the mentorship of artistic director Linda Sturdivant. 

 

She has studied voice and dance practically since she could walk and talk. She was a member of the prestigious Musica de Filia girl choir for many years, debuting as a soloist at Carnegie Hall at just age 15 under the teachings of both Jaye Churchill and David Goulet. Her studies in voice in adulthood are ongoing and rigorous under the guidance of Mary Johnston Lettelier. In the midst of her busy performance schedule, Kristen was also the 2024 second place award winner of the Maine NATS Musical Theatre competition.

Kristen has paved the way for herself in this industry; forging connections, working hard, and chasing her dreams.
